Established in 2013, Off-White™ is defining the grey area between black and white as a color. Guided by a clear vision of splicing the reality of how clothes are worn with the artistic expression of high-fashion, the late creative director and designer Virgil Abloh explored concepts within the realm of youth culture in the contemporary context.
The pop-up at Complex Hong Kong 2026 is conceived as a football-inspired space: jersey-style T-shirts hanging like in a locker room, giving match-day energy.
On the main wall, a large, iconic electronic scoreboard dominates the space, with a timer running endlessly, suggesting a dilation of time within the space, which in this case is the pop-up itself. It reads:
“TEMPORARY SCORE.” It is an ironic gesture, a subtle reversal of meaning.
“Temporary Score” echoes “Temporary Store”: the pop-up exists for a limited time, and so does the score.
In football, as in all sports, nothing is final until the last whistle. A result can shift in the final seconds, overturn expectations, and surprise everyone watching. In the same way, within the pop-up space, nothing is permanent. Retail exists in a moment. The result exists in a moment. The moment itself is fleeting.
Nothing is fixed. Everything remains in play.
